Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to some of the most common questions about cruising with Blue Skies Coastal Charters.

How many guests can we bring?

Blue Skies Coastal Charters accommodates private groups of up to 6 guests.

Where do cruises depart from?

Most cruises depart from Legendary Marina & Yacht Club in Gulf Shores. We’ll provide exact meeting instructions when your cruise is confirmed. If you have a different departure location in mind, ask us and we’ll let you know what may be possible.

What should we bring?

Bring weather-appropriate clothing, sunscreen, sunglasses, hats, towels if swimming is planned, and any food or beverages you would like for the trip.

Can we bring alcohol?

Yes. Beer, wine and hard seltzer are welcome. No liquor and no glass containers.

Can we bring food and snacks?

Yes. Guests are welcome to bring food and snacks aboard.

Are children allowed?

Yes. Children are welcome as part of your private group. Please let us know the ages of any children when planning your cruise.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Safety comes first. The Captain makes the final decision regarding weather, water conditions and whether it is safe to operate. If the Captain cancels a cruise because of weather, safety concerns or a mechanical issue, we will first work with you to reschedule for a mutually agreeable date. If the cruise cannot reasonably be rescheduled, your deposit will be refunded.

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

Plans change, and we understand. To receive a refund of your deposit, cancellations must be made at least 7 full days before the scheduled cruise departure time. Cancellations received less than 7 full days before departure are nonrefundable.

Can we swim during the cruise?

Swimming may be available on select experiences when conditions and location allow. The Captain makes the final decision based on safety and conditions.

Will we see dolphins or other wildlife?

Wildlife sightings are common on Gulf Coast waters, and we often see dolphins, seabirds and other marine life during our cruises. Because these are wild animals in their natural environment, sightings can never be guaranteed — but keeping an eye out for them is part of the experience.

Can we customize our cruise?

Yes. Blue Skies Coastal Charters focuses on private, flexible coastal experiences. Let us know what you have in mind and we will help shape the day around your group.

Do you provide food or drinks?

Our boat does not have a traditional onboard restroom. Depending on the cruise, we may be able to plan comfort stops along the route. If restroom access is important for your group, let us know before booking so we can discuss the best option.

Is there a restroom on the boat?

Please contact us before booking if restroom access is an important consideration for your group so we can explain the options for your selected experience.

How do we book?

Use the Contact Us form or call Blue Skies Coastal Charters. We will confirm the date, experience and details with you directly.

Is a deposit required?

Yes. A deposit is required to hold your cruise. We will provide payment details after confirming your date and experience.

Are gratuities included?

Gratuities are not included and are always appreciated for excellent service.

What should we wear?
